I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Southwest Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Sep 2023
Interview
The interview process was relatively easy and quick. I had a 30-minute interview with HR and was notified in two days that I was invited to an in-person interview. I didn't have much of a choice on the day of the interview, but it worked out with my schedule. The interviewers were nice and made me feel at ease. Questions weren't too hard, more informal interview (Q&A) than an actual test of skills. HR was presented in the interview, which is a first that I've seen. Overall, interview went well. Received notification that I did not receive the job offer about 4 business days. HR gave a high-level explanation that there was a candidate that was better aligned for the position and offered to have a follow up for additional feedback. One thing I did notice is that the hiring manager kept saying that they were a budget airline (which of course I knew). So, this left me wondering if the final decision was based on salary as I had requested the top of the pay scale but had all of the preferred requirements and experience. A lot of companies these days are overlooking great candidates over pay. Hope this wasn't the case but if it was, let this be feedback to employers to be transparent about pay and at least give the opportunity to perspective employees if they can meet in the middle.

Question 1
Do you have experience with putting together a presentation for senior leadership?
Phone screening with the recruiter as the first step - this was about a 30 minute phone call. Then big interview with hiring manager and recruiter that was about an hour long. Then I received a preliminary offer by phone and was asked to fill out info for background check and did drug test. After doing all that, I received the final offer.

Question 1
Why do you want to work for Southwest? Why are you a good fit for this position? Our culture is fun loving as part of our core values - how do you exemplify this in your life?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Southwest Airlines in Aug 2023
Interview
Quite frankly one of the worst interview experiences I've ever participated in. Had to go through 2 phone screens, a video interview, a virtual panel, and an in person panel with a case only to be ghosted afterwards until I continued to follow up for a response weeks after the interview. Was told I wasn't selected because another candidate had more experience in an area that wasn't even related to the job description nor was I ever asked about. To have such a great company culture, it definitely is not felt in the candidate experience.
