How can you add value to this role

PwC

Prior to the Career Focus Day, you will be invited to a briefing where you will be informed what the Career Focus Day will consist of. During this briefing, they informed me that interview questions would be motive-based rather than competency-based. These included questions such as why you would want to work for the company? Why are you applying for that specific role? What do you know about the qualification that you will work towards in this role? What day-to-day tasks and responsibilities would you expect in this role?

To answer these motive-based questions, I ensured that I prepared effectively by reading up beforehand on the company, the services it offers and lines of service, its performance and what the company offers employees. I also read up about the role and area that I was interviewing for by using PwC's website and conducted more research about the area and the role online. I would also recommend signing up for a 'Virtual Park' event that PwC frequently host. This is a great opportunity to meet PwC staff working in the area that you may be applying for or are interested in and network and interact with employees, recruitment officers and to ask questions and learn more about the company, the role you're interested in and the responsibilities in that role. PwC's website also has lots of resources and information that you can use to prepare. Less

Overall, I was pleased with the hiring process, however, I think waiting a month to hear anything is a bit excessive. After about two weeks without hearing anything I was sure that I did not get the position. And then another two weeks went by before I received the offer. Needless to say, I was incredibly stressed throughout the whole process. Less
