Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Procurement Manager to lead our procurement operations and drive sourcing excellence across the organization. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end procurement process, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the timely acquisition of quality materials and services. Your expertise will help optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and support manufacturing and production objectives. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, focusing on sourcing, supplier management, and category management.
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Manage procurement activities utilizing ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to streamline purchasing, materials management, and production planning processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis to resolve supply chain disruptions, improve procurement processes, and enhance overall supply chain management.
- Oversee supplier performance evaluations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, delivery schedules, and contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels through effective procurement planning and MRP (Material Requirements Planning).
- Monitor market trends and conduct sourcing activities to identify new suppliers or alternative sources that can deliver cost savings and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, including those related to logistics, pricing strategies, and contract management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, and other procurement software tools.
- Expertise in contract negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Familiarity with procurement best practices including sourcing strategies, category management, and materials management.
- Understanding of supply chain principles including logistics, production planning, and inventory control through MRP systems.
- Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) is a plus for organizations working with government contracts.
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with analytical abilities for root cause analysis and problem-solving.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - 2+ years managing a purchasing team and department, to include all KPI's, time and attendance, performance reviews, and disciplinary action. This team is 2-4 team members.
- B.S. degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
- APICS professional certification (CPIM) preferred.
