Pros

Exposure - You have the opportunity to interact with customers that may actually see you as someone with potential and offer you a real job

Cons

I was one of the people that made it all the way to "ownership" as they call it. Sure, they put you in a building, tell you its yours, put some furniture that was bought at a resale shop in it, and put up a few ads to start your recruiting. All sounds like you are getting a quick in to running your own business. Now here's where it gets fun - remember you are the last one to get paid. Most of the time, if you arent out yourself selling, then your "promoting owner" wants to know why you are even paying yourself. Try and pay yourself a pretty penny, it comes back to bite you somewhere when you cant make rent, your merch payment, or even balance your payroll. Therefore, yes, you are FORCED to continue doing the grunt work you have been doing to get where you are. OWNERSHIP? More like glorified manager. As the owner you should have the right to branch out, explore different products or techniques...good luck with that. The second you try to find an alternative product, any merch you may be selling for smart circle gets yanked, as does your recruiting, office furniture, and anything else they offered to help you with. They call it ownership, but they really keep you on a leash because the truth is, you have nothing without them, and they know it, and abuse it. Face it, owning your own company means you have your own product/service and a hefty bank account to back yourself with. All that they preach and brainwash you into working day and night for is a lie because they will abuse you as an owner just as they did as when you were a street salesman. Speaking of day and night...dont expect your weekends off and early nights anytime soon. You had better be prepared to work 7 days a week as well as nights unless you have a top notch assistant manager that you trust enough and is willing enough to do that for you. Finally, they have crap accountants. They provide you with one to handle your payroll and taxes, but they miss a lot...and when they do, guess who is responsible. Good luck to all that attempt to overcome their work horse habits, and of you do make it to ownership as I did, consider yourself an awesome salesman that proved you could do it, and go find a real job. Get out while its still easy, once you make owner, their are legal documents to be signed, and its just like getting a divorce at that point when you try to get out. It was 3 years of my life I deeply wish I could have back. PS: One more thing I just remembered. Your benefits that they say you get access to after 6 months - they dont exist. They dont expect you to last that long so they tell you that just to get you to stick around. If you do make it that long and ask they simply tell you they dropped their plans, but you are a success, you can go purchase your own benefits online.

Pros

Teamwork Support Travel Company has 1 vision and I appreciate it that. It feels like the book "The speed of Unity." The goal is to take care of the employees and by default the clients get taken care of.

Cons

None from my time here.

Pros

There are no pros whatsoever to working with any Smart Circle affiliated "business".

Cons

Smart Circle needs to drop the act with their canned responses to negative reviews that "it sounds like you are describing your experience working as a sales rep with one of the independently owned and operated sales companies that Smart Circle contracts with" as if the toxic and exploitative/pyramid scheme nature of these "independent" sales companies isn't THEIR ENTIRE BUSINESS MODEL. 100% commission (no base pay), mandatory 12+ hour days, extreme travel, religious discrimination, toxic and unprofessional workplace environment. Here is what else to expect if you take a position with one of the "independently owned and operated sales companies that Smart Circle contracts with": Pay & Advancement: There is no base pay. If you do not make a sale, you are working and walking for free. The criteria for promotions are constantly changed ("moving goalposts"), making advancement incredibly difficult regardless of your performance. Hours & Travel: Expect to work 12+ hours a day, 6 days a week, with only one lunch break. You are either stuck outside in the blazing sun for your entire shift, or standing inside a Costco or Best Buy harassing people. You are required to ride in other employees' personal vehicles to travel all over, often not returning until very late, only to be expected back by 9:00 AM the next day. Access to basic necessities, like bathrooms, is extremely limited. Safety & Field Hazards: The company completely abandons you when you are out in the field. If you get incarcerated, arrested, or find yourself in serious trouble while out by yourself, management will not bat an eye or offer any support. Multiple workers have been locked up while on the clock. Furthermore, field workers are regularly subjected to dangerous environments—employees have been chased and severely bitten by dogs, requiring emergency stitches, with zero accountability from the company. Religious Discrimination: Management does not respect religious practices and will terminate employees over them. A fellow worker who was a Seven-day Adventist explicitly informed the Owner that he observed church from Friday evening through Saturday all day. Though he was initially told it was okay, he was let go immediately after for his religious observances and never seen again. Culture & Leadership: The workplace is incredibly unprofessional and unsafe; they do not perform timely background checks, resulting in a registered sexual offender working for a full three weeks before any screening was finally completed. Corporate boundaries are routinely ignored. Toxic Positivity & Hazing: Management strictly enforces a policy against "negging out," meaning employees are forbidden from expressing genuine concerns or negative experiences, forcing a toxic positivity environment. Leadership interactions are highly unprofessional. There are also mandatory Saturday events where employees who don't make sales are subjected to unprofessional hazing (such as having ice water poured on them and being hit with tortillas) while being recorded. Avoid this place if you are looking for a professional, stable career with reliable pay, safe working conditions, and a workplace that respects basic human rights and religious beliefs. There are literally entire forums, websites, and documentaries dedicated to this company and others like it (collectively known to the internet as Devilcorp). Some resources that I strongly urge anyone who is even considering coming within 10 feet of this company to check out: Documentary on YouTube- "Selling Lies: Desperation, Devilcorp, and Direct Marketing" YouTube video from Buzzfeed - "How I Accidentally Recruited for a Pyramid Scheme • This Is That Story" YouTube video - "Jobseekers BEWARE of Fake Job Posts: The Scheme of Devil Corp" Google "Devilcorp Reddit" for stories from real people who have worked with companies that Smart Circle and similar Devilcorps "contract" with. Google "Devilcorp Wordpress" to read about signs to look for if you're unsure the "opportunity" you are interviewing for is actually under the umbrella of a Devilcorp like Smart Circle (since they so often obscure who they actually are during the interview and hiring process).
