I have been working at Gallagher full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The culture at Gallagher is one of the best in the country, which is one of the reasons we merged our organization with them. The opportunities to grow and become better at what we do are available to everyone. There is also great flexibility in work-life balance. Management is supportive and provides coaching and mentoring.

    Cons

As an extension of a larger office on the other side of the state, sometimes it feels like we're left out of things. Though that's only due to geographical distances.

    Advice to Management

Small and Mid-Sized Market offices feel more exposed to competition than that of larger markets, and need to feel supported more during transitions after an acquisition. They chose to merge with Gallagher because of the capabilities and culture, but sometimes they don't quite understand all of the capabilities that come with being part of the Gallagher family.

It is a great company to work for. They try to understand their employees and try to work with them as best as they can. It is a big company, so there is room for growth.

    Cons

I can't really think of any.

    I worked at Gallagher full-time

    Pros

Opportunities for growth are present if you are willing to work hard to get them. Knowing the right people to ask is key, and they are on a regions level, not local level. They provide many sources of assistance with processes which work well if utilized. Regional and National Leadership is full of energy and enthusiasm. They show a true passion for the corporate values. The CEO is a genuinely nice person who shows his sincere appreciation if you are lucky enough to meet him.

    Cons

Little to no raises provided unless you quit. Profits were funneled into acquisitions. Reviews were a joke and had nothing to do with work done, if they were even given- Not all reviews are given contrary to what was reported to HR. The reward for hard work is more work. In the office if you flirted with the COO you didn't have to follow rules, work hard, or even work regular hours. They stressed having work life balance, but the workload did not allow for any balance outside work.

    Advice to Management

Senior Regional management should spend some time talking to those who actually do the work, rather than those who are in a leadership position on a local level.

I have been working at Gallagher full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fantastic culture, with great career development programs, focus on mentoring, community involvement and fun social outings. Good perks, including flexible schedule, ability to work from home when needed, gym onsite, and decent benefits.

    Cons

Industry is very fast paced and challenging, so if you aren’t up for hard work, or just want to “punch your time card” somewhere, look elsewhere. This is a challenging and potentially satisfying career, not just a job.

    Advice to Management

Advice for interviewees: Interviews should go both ways. Teams and branches vary, so ask to meet the team you would be working with and interview them to make sure it’s a good fit for you.
