Pros
Our company was acquired by Gallagher, in turn I became a Gallagher employee. Gallagher has very streamlined processes/policies/etc. and the technology to back it up, which is nice. Many companies of this age and size are very outdated with that. I also appreciate how inclusive they are and diverse.
Cons
Their employee perks are great, but their health insurance is not great. They have only two options to choose from: a high deductible, and a higher deductible. They do not give much money for your HSA for either of these, even as a married couple. I pay roughly $250 a month for my spouse and I to have a $3,000 deductible which I have to meet even before prescriptions are paid for which I have never heard of before. Their mental health therapy offerings are useful, but it is through a company called Talkspace and you only get 30 minutes a month, or you can hope that your therapist is in network after your deductible. It’s frustrating they don’t give reasonable COLA raises, or bonuses as they can clearly afford it. They sponsor the Indy car races, own a rugby team, and have a spot in Chicago next to Wrigley Field. I appreciate the community involvement but better benefits or bonuses would be much more appreciated than events we can’t even partake in.
