Pros

Excellent training schemes and scope for promotion

Cons

Bad management. unforgiving of days off for sickness. Frequently asked to jobs not in your job description. Expected to drop family ties for work. Expected to work early mornings after finishing at 11 or midnight the day before. No double time or bonus for working Christmas day etc.

Thanks for the review - all the way from Illinois USA! We're yet to open a restaurant the other side of the Atlantic, however I can say that we pay the following across Christmas: • Christmas Day – Double Time • Boxing Day & New Year’s Day – Time and a half • New Year’s Eve (From 6pm) – Time and a half Regarding your other points - we know working in the hospitality industry can be demanding, but we recognise it's important to get the right balance between challenging and impossible. In order to help us make real changes to our business, we’d really appreciate the chance to talk to you further about this – just drop us a line at glassdoorreviews@whitbread.com
