I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lyft in Sep 2019
Interview
2 60-minute technical phone screens. First was an easy question with follow up expansions, finished question+expansions in about 30 minutes. Second was a significantly harder problem solved in about 40 minutes. Interviewer then asked solutions for follow up expansions, but did not require to code them.
Finished laptop challenge within 40 minutes (30 minutes for coding, 10 minutes for refactoring, style, adding comments etc.). Did well on the other non laptop challenge interviews as well.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lyft (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2017
Interview
2 phone coderpad interviews, and then 1 onsite that consisted of 1 whiteboard question, 1 question where i coded live in front of another engineer on a shared coderpad and then 1 coding challenge where I was given files and had to come up with a solution (question is similar to standard algo question)
Overall, I had a positive interview experience with Lyft. The recruiters I had were very fast with giving me updates/feedback. The onsite was fun and they had good food.
For preparation, I found reviewing past questions on Glassdoor and CTCI to be very helpful. I would make sure you know these questions and concepts by heart. Especially CTCI!!!!
