Pros
Benefits are amazing, a lot of back-end benefits: Pension at 5yrs (what companies still offer this!?), 401k match, Credit Union (1.9% car loans) good compensation and steady career at a 90+ yr old company. Awesome buildings and corporate hubs. Work-life balance and full time work week is only 38.75hrs. PTO is great. Short term disability at not charge. Open door management and HR policy. State Farm is amazing for their employees and all-in-all the best place I've worked.
Cons
Total Control of time while at work, co-workers are unquestionably average... they aren't hiring the best and the brightest of people. Rating system makes zero sense. Corporate Politics. It's an old-school (legacy company) and tenure means everything and it's stuck in its ways. A lot of overtime. Numbers driven and focus on numbers and not the customer. Big disconnect between depts, Agency (Sales), Claims and Underwriting.
