I have been working at Hilton full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I started as a line level employee in the hospitality industry, joined Hilton 20 years ago and just celebrated my 5th year as a General Manager in a full service hotel. Hilton Worldwide is a company dedicated to developing talent at every level in the organization and I owe my success and career to their continual investment in me.

    Cons

Growth in the company can mean relocation from city to city. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, it is certainly can be part of the equation, especially if you want to fast track your career.

    Advice to Management

Leaders with a proven track record for creating successful teams, engaging their work group, and developing talent are highly prized in our organization.

I have been working at Hilton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hilton is an amazing company to work for! You become family the first day . The culture within the property and the company is unlike no other. I love Hilton!

    Cons

The pay is lower than other hotels I've worked. However, it has motivated me to work harder to move up in positions/roles for the pay I desire.

I have been working at Hilton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Worldwide hotel discounts from $39 - $59, team member discounts on cars, beds, and electronics. Good pay and PTO structure as well.

    Cons

Not many. Maybe more opportunity for Sales to work from home. Would be great if there were more managed properties to work at because working at a franchise is not like working for Hilton.

    Advice to Management

Rethink remote Sales offices. Makes commute a non-issue and would increase morale.

I have been working at Hilton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are lots of opportunities and resources to grow in the company, Hilton offers outstanding benefits to its employees from great health benefits to various discounts, all your hard work is recognized and management takes the time to built a development plan and shape you up to better succeed in your career with Hilton and the pay is good (some properties like mine offer commission on top of your check which is a big plus).

    Cons

After you retire with Hilton you don't get to keep your hotel discounts.

    Advice to Management

I feel it would be ideal that after an individual has invested 20+ years with the company they should get to keep their hotel discount. Thanks to their dedication and all their hard-work to make sure they company succeeds and gets to where it is today it is just the right thing for Hilton to let them keep their discounts as a "thank you for your services" gesture.

I have been working at Hilton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Beautiful hotel with so much opportunity. It has all of the latest technology which would put a leader working there above the rest of the competition if learned.

    Cons

-Terrible Executive Leadership- no consideration for those who truly care about the success of the hotel
-Average of 14HR days without any type of additional compensation
-Favoritism / Politics amounts all Managers/ Directors

I have been working at Hilton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

To start, Hilton gets the basics right from benefits like insurance, 401K, PTO with options and choices to select what is best for the individual team member. Hilton consistently tries to enhance the work experience with refreshed team member break areas, competitions to win awards and the best travel incentive plans. That way team members can get away and still afford to go anywhere in the world.

    Cons

If you work in the hotel industry or have in the past, the bulk of opportunities to work at a Hilton (or Family Branded) hotel means you are working for a franchise property and usually some form of a management company. I have done both, and working for Hilton directly at a Hilton Corporate managed hotel is definitely the way to go.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good and promising work as Hilton continues to be the best of the best.
