I worked at Nordstrom Rack full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you're wanting to move up and have the determination it can definitely happen if you express interest.

    Cons

Worked for a store that was grand opening, the store manager was not prepared for everything. Training was lackluster with my department manager who relied on regular employees to train others. Alot has to do with networking and you'll be able to succeed quickly which can be good and bad.

    Advice to Management

No advice, it appears the store manager and manager are no longer there for a reason. However action could've been taken sooner.

I have been working at Nordstrom Rack full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pros are the flexibility with your schedule! You can essentially give them any availability and they work around it to give you hours. Also the pay is amazing compared to other retailers. No minimum wage not even close. Great benefits.

    Cons

Extremely tedious. And depending on what store you're in there isn't a select department to work in. You have to work in all if it's an "xtreme team green store".

    Advice to Management

If you're a store manager please be more helpful and not in your office all day. (Speaking of a personal experience)

    Pros

    Great opportunities and pay. Transparent.

    Cons

Can become a 'hamster wheel' job situation due to people staying positions for so long.

I have been working at Nordstrom Rack full-time

    Pros

20% discount and around the Thanksgiving holiday you get a little extra discount along with that.

    Cons

    Pressure in opening rewards accounts

    Advice to Management

There should be a training session on how to ask customers about opening a rewards card with the store

I worked at Nordstrom Rack part-time

    Pros

Relatively good pay for an hourly customer service job. Cash bonuses for signing customers up for store cards. Plenty of employees to share the workload, so it's not too stressful.

    Cons

Nordstrom expects you to really push the store credit card. Cashiers also act as the phone operators for the store, which can lead to some "fun" interactions with impatient customers.
