I had nine (9) interviews over two months. They have asked me everything they possibly could. Leadership, project management, coding, on-call troubleshooting under pressure, another coding interview and two interviews with senior director of engineering in the US and finally one more with hiring manager.
They called me, said I passed all the interviews. I did really well and they have no negative feedback. I was then told that the role I applied for went to another candidate with more domain experience, but there is a “place for me at Apple in London”.
I was then ghosted and multiple follow up emails to talent team led to nothing. After all that time commitment to get ghosted is just poor. I am disappointed in the company whose products I love. It’s just poor. If something changed and there is no more role - just be honest about it.

Question 1
- Users reporting they cannot view photos on iCloud. You are on call engineer for that service. Troubleshoot the problem.
- Leadership questions were all focused on providing examples where you had to do something like motivate team with low morale, deliver feature you don’t agree with, etc.
- Project management questions were about how you prioritise work and what tools and methodologies you use. In my case it were OKRs, roadmaps, etc.

Interview
i received a Linkedin message from an Apple recruiter. We scheduled a call and then an interview was scheduled with the hiring manager. The interview was a zoom interview. The interview only lasted 30 minutes. From the start of the interview before we even talked the manager was not really interested in the conversation. I asked questions and he gave one-sentence responses.
