I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hilton (La Quinta, CA) in Apr 2012
Interview
A phone interview first, the head chef and sous chefs were nice enough , but not overly warm and welcoming, which I would find out later is the general aura of the place and I went in as an enthusiastic future employee. Cooking for the head chef, interview with multiple chefs ( a panel). A tour of the facility.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Hilton (Cairns) in Oct 2024
Interview
The interview was simple and professional, starting with a phone screening, followed by an in-person meeting with the head chef. It focused on my skills, experience, and availability, with clear role expectations.

online interviews are very different some what not as effective as an in person interview experience. i believe an in person interview would be a better process . online interviews work on your own time but feel much slower and you dont have much time to explain yourself
