I applied online. I interviewed at Kroger (Murray, KY) in Nov 2012
Interview
I applied online and was contacted a few days later to come in for a interview. I had a interview at 1 pm so I showed up about 15 minutes early and the woman that was to interview was still at lunch. I was asked a few very general questions such as availability and then had to take a drug test right there in the office and submit to a background check and was told it would take a day or two for the results to be back but if they came back clear then I would be contacted to start training. This was the easiest and most laid back interview I had ever been to.

I applied online. I interviewed at Kroger in Jun 2026
Interview
Interview was very brief and only asked me my previous employment history and availability. I was then given a run down of what the position would entail and had to sign a couple papers proving that it was explained to me. Overall not too bad and was very laid back.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Kroger (Hilliard, OH) in Dec 2025
Interview
Rote, simplistic, smarmy interviewer. Typical open ended questions regarding customer service. I got the distinct impression that I was being eliminated due to my age. I frequently shop at the store and there are very few employees over age 45.
Easy, very basic questions, pretty much just questions based on prior employment and contributions to team work.Easy, very basic questions, pretty much just questions based on prior employment and contributions to team work.
