Hiring process is long and agonizing. Takes week or longer for them to process the application and if you do go in for an interview you have to stand at the courtesy counter and wait 15+ mins for the HR person. If hired you have to do computer work, which is pointless, for 8 hours.

Walk in and apply via their in store computer. Call the main HR (human resources person) wait a little while. Like one to two days. Get called in for a interview a day later. Answer very basic questions, take a mouth swab drug test, wait a day or two for a back ground check and then they will call you back to schedule you for your first day of work.

Interview
Online Applications are preferred. Only one interview is required. The interview is conducted by a member of HR and not necessarily by the Supervisor who is in charge of your department. Thus prior technical information about a specific position is not important. Once you have been hired the general Kroger information is long outdated and excruciating, but pull through because the work environment is pretty solid.
