Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrophysiology (EP) / Cardiovascular Technologist to join our clinical allied team in the EP Lab. In this role, you will assist physicians with all invasive cardiac, electrophysiology, peripheral diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. This includes temporary/permanent pacemaker placements, complex intra-procedure mapping, ablations, implant devices, and circulatory support devices (such as IABP and Impella) as indicated.
Schedule & Shift Breakdown
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift Options: 5x8-hour shifts (11:00 AM – 7:30 PM) OR 4x10-hour shifts (9:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- On-Call: Required (as per organizational policy and procedure)
- Weekends & Holidays: As needed to support lab operations
Key Responsibilities
- Procedure Assistance: Assist physicians throughout complex diagnostic, interventional cath lab, and electrophysiology procedures (mapping, ablations, and device implants).
- Setup & Preparation: Prepare and organize specialized clinical equipment, sterile trays, and support machinery for each unique procedure; maintain strict sterile scrub techniques.
- Hemodynamic Monitoring: Calibrate hemodynamic monitoring equipment; obtain, calculate, and analyze hemodynamic data, cardiac output, and oximetry readings.
- Patient Care & Safety: Assist with patient positioning, monitoring preparation, vascular access, sheath removal, and the application of radial access banding while maintaining strict hemostasis.
- Equipment & Imaging Operations: Load and operate power injectors and digital cine technologies; adhere to standard protocols for storing and retrieving digital images and records.
- Arrhythmia Recognition: Immediately recognize and accurately interpret cardiac arrhythmias during live procedures.
- Inventory & Maintenance: Assist with inventory management, maintain PAR levels, and perform routine periodic evaluation and calibration of diagnostic equipment.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: Direct, hands-on experience in a Cath Lab and/or EP Lab environment is strictly required.
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency in electrophysiology intra-procedure mapping, device implantation, ablation workflows, and sterile scrub techniques.
Education (Must meet at least one):
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technologist program OR
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program OR
- Associate’s Degree in Applied Science (AAS).
Certifications & Licensures:
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification (or obtained within 3 months of hire).
- Credentialing: Must hold or successfully pass the RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) exam via CCI, RCES, or hold an active Radiologic Technologist (RT) License within 1 year of hire.
General Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficient computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite / Google Workspace).
Compensation & Pay Structure (Estimates)
- Competitive Contract Rates: Expected regular hourly compensation aligned with a $85/hr bill rate structure (Final pay rate determined by agency pass-through models, local residency status, and experience).
- Overtime / Holiday Rate: Aligned with a premium structure.
