I applied online. I interviewed at FIS (Canton, MA) in Oct 2017
Interview
This was for a 3rd-shift full-time position so the interview was at 6AM. Yes...6AM. I got there and met the hiring manager who was very friendly but expressed concern that I would still be working my other job. He was basically worried that he'd hire me and I'd either call out due to fatigue or fall asleep at work. I fully understood his concern but told him that I have been working 3rd shift side jobs for almost 8 years (I have a "normal" job that doesn't pay much, hence the need for a second job). He took me on a tour of the area and let me sit with someone to watch what I'd be working on. The hiring manager was going to take a chance on me but told me that the final decision wasn't his but HIS manager's decision. He said I should hear something in a couple of days. I left feeling pretty confident.
When I didn't hear back after about 4 days, I sent an email directly to the recruiter who reached out to me initially. A couple of days went by with no response so I sent her another email and that email also went unanswered. Long story short, I never heard a word about the job from anyone. I was really looking forward to working there because of all the other opportunities in the company. My degree is in finance and I have a long history of working for a major financial services company. To completely ignore not one but two emails is horrendously unprofessional especially given the fact that the interview was at 6AM! If I didn't get the job due to worries about sleep deprivation, I can live with that. I know I'd be fine but I understand the concern. To this day, I have no idea why I wasn't chosen. I was given zero feedback. U-N-P-R-O-F-E-S-S-I-O-N-A-L!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were no difficult questions really. The manager mostly questioned when I'd be able to get some sleep.
