They initiate the hiring process by sending an email saying they’d like to interview you. Upon opening the email, the time slot was two weeks away so I chose Monday and requested the day off from my current job. Upon the day of the interview, I waited around for the recruiter to call me (20 minutes late). Only to inform me that the position was filled. Considering I chose the first morning of interviews, I was surprised by this. If you’re just going to hire from within the company, list the job as so. My entire day was wasted and I lost money to not even be interviewed. Overall, a disappointing experience. The hiring process doesn’t seem organized. I felt like the professional thing to do would have been to immediately call everyone scheduled for an interview and let them know the role has been filled. I feel bad for everyone who’s scheduled later on in the week. I’m sure the recruiter isn’t planning to take initiative in letting them know early.
