Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Some technical and situation questions, after technical interview met the management team (country manager and TAM manager)
1. Recruiter call 2. First round with hiring manager 3. Second round with director and a member of another team The interview process was concise and efficient. VMware talent team kept me in the loop at all times.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
First interview with the hiring manager - situational/behavioral questions; what challenges I have faced, how I dealt with specific situations, and more Second interview with the director - random questions and one technical question (the director asked to do role play as a TAM member and asked how I'd handle a version update)
The first question of my second interview was more of a statement than a question. The director shared his concern about my cultural fit because of my background (from the US) and asked me how I would overcome the cultural difference. I felt the first question revealed how he judged me before the interview, and it was tough trying to turn the table.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at VMware
Interview
I had three one- hour interviews before i got offered a job, within around 2 weeks. In one I had to give a short presentation which required around half an hour of preparation in advance.
I applied online. I interviewed at VMware (Amsterdam) in Sep 2022
Interview
Applied via VMware Careers webpage and got a reply from Talent Acquisition person in 1 business week.
In the job description, only English was required (apart from technical skills) and I was asked if I speak the local language fluently.
Unfortunately, I recently moved from another country and that was a reason for rejection.
To recap:
> Don't mention the local language in the job description
> Job description itself in English (obviously)
>> Require the potential candidate to be fluent in local language by default
