UTHealth Houston SBMI's Center for Secure Artificial intelligence for hEalthcare (SAFE) is hiring a Research Scientist! This role will develop and evaluate novel computational phenotyping methods using AI/ML approaches applied to large-scale healthcare data. The Research Scientist will collaborate with clinicians, informaticians, and data scientists to conduct research, publish findings, and support grant-funded projects. An strong candidate will have an expertise in computational phenotyping, machine learning, and artificial intelligence; working with EHR and other real-world healthcare data, strong programming skills (Python, SQL, R); experience with multimodal data integration, NLP, and/or foundation models; familiarity with health informatics, clinical research, and healthcare data standards; and strong publication record and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.

2 years of experience in a related research environment and have verifiable publications within the field of the research project required
