Python Developer – Market Data / Regulatory Data Feeds Job Summary We are seeking a Python Developer to join a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and supporting critical market data, client data, and regulatory data feed applications. The ideal candidate will have strong object-oriented Python development experience, expertise working with large-scale data processing systems, and an understanding of financial data feeds within a capital markets environment.
This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications that process high-volume data feeds while ensuring data quality, performance, and reliability.
Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Python.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and software design patterns.
• Experience working with trading platforms from large financial clients
• Experience building, supporting, or enhancing market data, client data, or regulatory data feeds.
• Strong understanding of data ingestion, transformation, validation, and feed processing workflows.
• Solid experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and reporting.
• Experience working with relational databases and large datasets.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate complex data issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within Capital Markets or Investment Banking.
• Knowledge of Equity Swaps or other equity derivatives products.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting and financial data ecosystems.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Exposure to distributed systems, messaging technologies, or event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python applications supporting market data, client data, and regulatory data feeds.
• Develop scalable, object-oriented software solutions for processing high-volume financial data.
• Build and optimize SQL queries used for feed generation, validation, and reconciliation.
• Analyze and troubleshoot production data issues, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with business users and technology teams to understand data requirements and implement enhancements.
• Monitor data feed performance and identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and production support activities.
• Document application functionality, data flows, and technical solutions.
