Responsibilities

• Develop original evening dress concepts that align with current fashion trends and client preferences
• Create detailed sketches and technical illustrations using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and CAD software to visualize designs clearly
• Collaborate with pattern makers and garment constructors to ensure designs are feasible for production while maintaining aesthetic integrity
• Manage the product lifecycle from initial concept through final sample approval, ensuring timely delivery of collections
• Incorporate color theory, fabric selection, and embellishment techniques to enhance the visual appeal of each design
• Stay informed on fashion retail trends, merchandising strategies, and theater costume influences to inspire innovative designs
• Conduct fittings and adjust designs based on fit, fabric behavior, and client feedback to achieve perfect silhouettes

Requirements

• Proven experience in fashion design with a focus on evening or formal wear
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CAD programs, and garment construction techniques
• Strong understanding of product lifecycle management from concept to production
• Knowledge of fashion styling, graphic design, color theory, and illustration skills for compelling visual presentations
• Hands-on sewing experience with sewing machines; familiarity with garment construction is essential
• Ability to interpret fashion retail trends and translate them into unique evening dress collections
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams including pattern makers and merchandisers
• Passion for theater costumes or performance costumes is a plus but not required
