I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon (Reston, VA) in May 2020
Interview
My recruiter was amazing, helped me all the way and was very cordial. Apart from the recruiter phone calls, 2 phone interviews and one full day panel interview.
First Phone interview with the hiring manger - Mostly behavioral questions based on amazon leadership principles
2nd phone interview was technical - Spoke to one of the Sr engineers who interviewed me on all CS basics, modern design principles and architecture.
Full panel interview - 5 hrs with breaks, one of them was a bar raiser. All of them were focused on leadership principles with few design questions. I did very well on all except one which could have been the reason for no offer. The full panel is very intensive taking about previous experiences, preparation on the leadership principles is the key. Take each principle and prepare an example from your prior work experience.

Technical phone screen for a principal level engineering manager, guy was late and obviously stressed. Couldn't understand his thick Chinese accent along with him speaking very quickly and quietly. No introductions or time for questions at the end, he just continuously grilled me with 0 emotion like a robot.
