Interview
Advice before the interview. Prepare to use real stories and think of a number of specific job or life experiences you can use to draw an answer from. Scenario questions are looking for how you handled your situation, goal to resolve, skills used and outcome. Certain experiences can be used to answer many different kinds of questions. Verbally practice with someone answering. It will take the pressure off in the moment and help keep you more focused. Be prepared to write the questions down, because some will tell you what they're looking for with additional question thrown in there. Also, prepare question to ask them, they will ask.
Met with ASM (Assist. Store Mgr). She had a relaxed and welcoming manner that was encouraging. Looking for short to the point answers to their Interview Scenario Questions. I was able to be specific to give a complete and accurate assessment of my abilities. Offered the job right there on the spot, noted over qualified, but offered to give additional guidance to take advantage of future opportunities. Very helpful and looks to be a company that sees and seizes the opportunity to engage employees to become part of the team. Encourages learning whatever position your offered, because there is always room to grow and advance. Asked them, "What the best part of working for HD? and What is the most challenging and rewarding part of the job? Be sure to ask, "can you give me an estimate of how long the process can take to see if I have been chosen for the job?' Then, thank them for the opportunity to interview with them.
