I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Mannheim) in Nov 2018
Interview
Initially an online test (basic comprehension and numerical competency). This was followed by several rounds of "skype" interviews on the Amazon Chime platform. The first interview was with an HR representative to screen for the second round which included four interviews on the same day, with an elimination round after the second interview of the day (two in the morning and two in the afternoon). The first two were with a senior HR and a senior Operations representative. I was eliminated after this point, but understand that the latter two would have been also with operations, likely potential superiors at your likely location.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
A lot of "tell me a time when" style questions based on the Amazon Leadership Principles. Talking about your experiences and how you handled situations was almost exclusively the style of questions.
I was applying in Germany, so part of the interview was in German (they want a B2 level minimum), this was a much bigger part of the Ops interview than HR had indicated it would be in my initial screening interview.
Also, Ops were very interested in how you had used "models" to structure your decision making in previous experiences (i.e. 6-sigma and Spaghetti-maps etc etc). I found this a bit irrelevant and frustrating because the 'on-campus' visitors had been very clear that they spend a long time in the on-boarding process training you in the models Amazon uses internally.
