I recently interviewed for the SDE role at Amazon. The process was structured, professional, and technically challenging, just as expected from a company of this scale.
Interview Process:
Online Assessment (OA) – Two coding questions, primarily focused on arrays and strings. Moderate difficulty. One required optimal time complexity.
Technical Round 1 – Focused on Data Structures and Algorithms (Binary Trees, HashMaps). Also included a system design mini-case (low-level).
Technical Round 2 – Dive into real-world problem solving and behavioral questions (STAR method). Asked about projects and coding decisions.
Bar Raiser Round – This was intense. Behavioral focus with deep dives into Amazon Leadership Principles. Also tested ownership and conflict resolution.
