I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Amazon (Bengaluru) in Aug 2024
Interview
Application Screening – After submitting the application and resume through the Amazon jobs portal or a campus recruitment drive, shortlisted candidates are selected for further assessment based on their academic background, leadership experience, and alignment with the role.
Online Assessment – Some roles may include a short online assessment to test communication, situational judgment, or basic analytical skills. This helps Amazon evaluate problem-solving and decision-making aligned with its Leadership Principles.
Behavioral Interview (Phone or Virtual) – If shortlisted, candidates are invited to a behavioral interview where the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) is often expected. The questions focus on Amazon’s 16 Leadership Principles. For example, candidates may be asked to describe a time they took ownership, dealt with ambiguity, or delivered results under pressure.
Final Interview (Sometimes a Panel Round) – In some cases, there is a final round where candidates may speak with a hiring manager or panel. This interview often explores cultural fit, interest in Amazon, and specific competencies relevant to the role, such as project coordination, stakeholder management, or analytical thinking.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
This question really stood out because it tested my ability to collaborate, resolve conflict, and maintain ownership of the outcome—qualities that are important at Amazon. I used the STAR method to answer it, focusing on how I stayed calm, initiated a one-on-one conversation to understand their perspective, and aligned our goals to improve teamwork. It was a great opportunity to show how I can stay customer-obsessed and deliver results even in tough situations."
