This is the third time I have been approached for a role at Amazon and the third time it has been a lousy experience from start to end. After an initially successful call with one of their internal recruiters, I was told I would be put forward as a candidate for two open roles, both of which were potentially appealing for different reasons. After weeks of delays and an "accidental", system-generated you-have-been-unsuccessful email, I finally got the next interview set up to happen four weeks after the first one. The interview was largely positive, but I did not come away from it feeling the job was in the bag. A week later, I received another system-generated you-have-been-unsuccessful email. No feedback whatsoever, just a generic 'no thanks'. Given how Amazon prides itself - and sells itself - as being the most customer-centric company on earth, a refusal to give even two lines of feedback to candidates who have dedicated hours to interviewing (not to mention the weeks of waiting) is utterly deplorable.
