      Development Operations Analyst Interview

      Aug 12, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at WeWork (London, England) in Jul 2022

      Interview

**Stay away from this company - nightmare interview process** - First interview 19/07 - Final interview 08/08 Hopefully I don't come across as 'bitter', I am far from that, I am just being honest. The communication was absolutely abysmal, I wouldn't wish what I experienced this past week on anyone else. There were 4 stages of interview, at the 2nd stage I was told there would only be 1 more stage, which turned into 2 more stages. The final interview was on Monday 8th August @13.30, I received notification that I had been unsuccessful Friday 12th August @ 16:10 . In between this time, I had emailed HR on Monday, prior to my interview @13.30, asking when a decision would be made as I had 1 other offer. HR didn't email back until Tuesday afternoon, saying it would be Wednesday / Thursday, in their reply they totally disregarded the fact that I had other offers, by fault of my own, I waited until Thursday (by this point I'd lost my other offer). I'd thought 'No way would they make me wait a whole week, with no communication, reveal sensitive information to me and then not offer me the job.' I was wrong. After 2 more days of no communication from anyone within WeWork, I emailed on Thursday asking for an update, I received no response. On Friday morning at 10:05, I emailed the director, asking for an update, 'coincidentally' 22 minutes later, I received an email from HR, to tell me that they would notify me of the outcome by end of day, the whole day passed and at 16:10 the HR rep called to notify I hadn't been successful. I was both confused and annoyed; simply due to the fact that throughout I was told the names of people 'I would be working with' and sensitive information relating to projects 'I would be working on' which alluded to the the fact that I might have been successful. Also, why get me to come all the way into the office, for 20 minutes out of a 45 minute interview, to then alert me I hadn't been successful, especially when only 3 questions were asked, it was very trivial and unnecessary. I learnt my lesson and as I said, no issue I was not selected but the whole process was just very very strange...I had even asked on 2 occasions if there would be any testing / technical interview. The HR rep told me no? I felt obligated to write this to warn others but to be fair maybe I dodged a bullet, read their income statement, the company is in debt, I did want the role as it would have been a brand new team and some good experience but after thinking about it for a few days I think I dodged a bullet.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Interview 1: Telephone screening interview to find out about my experience, why I want to work at WeWork and essentially see if I'm a job fit. Interview 2: Video call with the director of Operations, asked me about my experience, admitted he had no technical / analytical knowledge, very informal conversation. Interview 3: 'Technical Interview', the employee literally asked me about my day to day where I work now and wanted specific details as to how I work with Data. No take home task was given. Interview 4: 'Final Stage', Project Manager, lasted 20 minutes in total, wrote nothing down, asked me probably 3 questions in total, 20 minutes / 45 minutes.
