I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at PwC (London, England) in Mar 2022
Interview
First interview was conducted well (1-1) and I recieved strong feedback. Had second interview (inc. case study) and recieved no response or follow-up communication after 6 business days.
I sent a brief and polite message to the PwC recruiter I had been liaising with well up until this point, asking if they could please advise when I would be due an update on the position I had interviewed for. I recieved no response and was 'ghosted', to coin the popular phrase. No call and not even a basic rejection template email sent in return.
I've heard of this happening with some companies but was shocked when this unprofessional behaviour occurred during my job application process with the PwC UK Deals team. Eventually I noticed that my applicant status had changed and I found out that I was unsuccessful after checking the application status on the off-chance one day (not even an automated email notification recieved).
I'm definitely not sour about being unsuccessful (you can't win them all!), but it was the treatment recieved as an applicant which was disappointing, given that substantial time was put into interview preparation. The experience has somewhat changed what was previously a high opinion of PwC, which is unfortunate.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a situation where you have dealt with client conflict and how you dealt with that.
I interviewed for a position that's slightly out of my expertise. They took the time to understand why and was engaging to explain what the role requires. There were 3 of them.
Softball questions. Technical questions were nothing difficult and so weren't memorable. Interviews were more of a soft skills check than anything else. The decision was already made once my resume was seen.
I applied online. I interviewed at PwC (São Paulo, São Paulo) in May 2026
