    Pros

    Customers are lovely and you end up getting a lot of customers looking for you specifically. Lots of one on one time with your customers, good work environment

    Cons

    Management was a nightmare, never felt heard, always had a reason I was wrong for feeling under appreciated or wrongly accused. It was a toxic environment as a manager and the associates started noticing as well. Extremely frustrating

    Advice to Management

    Host interviews with your store managers every once in a while and also talk to their subordinates. She can make herself seem great but the other employees know what goes on behind the scenes

    Great benefits and nice team atmosphere. The discounts were pretty good though

    kind of expect you to know exactly what your doing and expect alot out of employees. called me on my days off on several occasions

    Pros

    Super awesome discount, amazing company that values employees,always awesome rewards for stores who meet quotas, definitely a good job to have some spending money and life balance is super lit

    Cons

    Sometimes the hours were really low but it's not a big deal if you don't have bills, management was sometimes less than awesome but always snapped back to being awesome

    Maybe don't hire so many people at once

    Long days, weekends are really stressful and busy

    Keep it up! I love working one on one with my manager because she always tries to help me improve

    Pros

    Discount. Ascena retail has great benefits. Not open extremely late for a retail store. Health insurance is decent and paid time off.

    Cons

    Asl position is useless. Little to no mentoring. Constant criticism of performance but no help to resolve. The constant coaching mentality drives away employees. Expectations are extremely high for credit card sales and company average is so low. Double standards. Some policies are enforced with employees and some employees get away with anything. Training program is a joke or at least utilization of it. Lots of things are pushed to the wayside.

    Advice to Management

    Celebrate the wins. Use positive verbage more often. Encouragement goes further than constant criticism.

    Pros

    Great discount, free merchandise, bonuses... the company provides you with extra discount days a few times a year along with opportunities to win incentives of Maurices logo merchandise.

    Cons

    Opportunity to advance is limited. I was promoted in the first six months of working here but was held at that position until leaving due to no place to advance.

    Pros

    Maurices is a great place to work for. The company encourages promotion from within through training called the MBA program. Also when you reach your store goals, the company rewards you. They have a great employee discount and your family members can use it as well.

    Cons

    Some of the cons are limited hours available for sales associates and the constant pressure to make a sale. They want you to be a little to overbearing towards customers.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to lead by example and have positive attitudes. Constantly encourage growth for other employees.
