CAE Test Engineer
Location: Raymond, Ohio (onsite)
The candidate will be responsible for guaranteeing strength and durability requirements of vehicle body subsystems and components on the next generation of Honda and Acura vehicles.
Job responsibilities also include:
Construction of high-quality FE meshes and models of complete body subsystems and components.
Conduct non-linear ABAQUS FE solutions for fatigue and strength evaluation.
Conduct nCode fatigue post-processing to evaluate fatigue life.
Clear, confident presentation and documentation of engineering conclusions.
Lead research activities to develop new, and improve existing, CAE methods.
Occasional test validation and investigations related to FE models and test requirements.
When performance concerns arise from CAE validation, the candidate will be responsible for developing appropriate design solution strategies and work closely with design departments for implementation.
Abaqus, Ansa
BSME or related automotive engineering degree and a minimum of 5+ year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Related advanced degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
Candidate should have an excellent strength of materials background.
CATIA V5 knowledge is not required but desired.
Minimum of 5 years' experience of FEA pre-processor software, such as Hypermesh or ANSA is required.
Minimum of 5 years' experience of FEA solvers, such as ABAQUS, Nastran and nCode is also required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.
