Senior Applications Developer Interview

Anonymous Employee in Redwood Shores, CA
Accepted Offer
Positive Experience
Easy Interview

Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Oracle (Redwood Shores, CA) in February 2009.

Interview

Their interview process is really easy. Basically they only do campus recruiting so if you are good in school and have a proven track of records, you would be accepted. I received an email from their recruiter and was flying for an onsite 3 weeks later. No phone screen ever. I chose 5 groups to interview with during those 3 weeks and met with each group during my onsite interview. No harsh questions asked. Very casual interview for both parties to understand each other

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Oracle (Chennai (India)) in June 2013.

    Interview

2 technical rounds followed by manager round and he round.
Technical rounds focus on Java sql algorithms and puzzles
Manager round some puzzles and communication
They want to see how you reach a solution. The actual answer doesn't matter for puzzles.
After saying I was selected they took 4 months to give the offer letter.
I have heard approvals for any job opening has to be approved from the top and this takes time especially given their quarterly hiring targets.
So be prepared to wait for up to 3 months.
But if they say you are selected you will get the offer. It will just take time

There was a written test (aptitude/logical reasoning) . This was mainly to filter the candidates. Again there were 3 rounds of technical discussion , 1 round with the senior director and the last one was HR round.
