Summary:
The Network Admin Tech III provides advanced technical support for military network infrastructure, communications systems, and cyber operations. This role ensures secure, reliable, and mission-ready network operations across classified and unclassified environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, servers).
• Administer secure DoD networks including NIPR, SIPR, JWICS (depending on assignment).
• Perform system updates, patching, STIG compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user account permissions.
• Monitor network performance, conduct diagnostics, and implement optimization strategies.
• Support cybersecurity operations, incident response, and IA/CS compliance.
• Maintain network diagrams, documentation, and change-control records.
• Provide tier III technical support to units, command staff, and mission operations.
• Assist with configuration management, asset tracking, and auditing.
• Install and secure communications gear for deployed or tactical environments.

Required Skills/Experience:

• 3–5+ years of professional IT/network administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of routing/switching (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba).
• Experience with DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, STIGs).
• Proficiency with Windows Server & Linux environments.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, HyperV).
• Ability to work in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

Certifications (usually required or highly preferred):

• CompTIA Security+ (baseline DoD 8570 requirement)
• Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP)
• CompTIA Network+
• CEH or other cyber certs depending on unit
• IAT-II or IAT-III compliance depending on role

Preferred Experience:

• Tactical communications or deployed network experience
• Experience with SATCOM, tactical radios, or secure communications devices
• Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Prior DoD or military network support roles

Physical/Operational Requirements:

• Ability to lift equipment, work in server rooms, or in field environments
• Ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance
• May require travel or deployment depending on unit

Pay: $79,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
