I worked at CSC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Local account people were great to work with for 20+ years

    Cons

Sr management only cares about $ even though they always say that the people are the biggest asset. Offshore as much as possible or get someone less expensive to do the work. Client satisfaction is a non-factor to Sr management. The local people on the accounts suffer for this and end up with little to know work\life balance that the Sr management also like to say is so important.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees and it's possible the current employee morale may actually increase.

I worked at CSC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent Pay - Decent Benefits - Matching 401k

    Cons

Raises are few, and negligible when they do occur.
What I have figured out, now that I am laid off, is that for all of the backend help you get, that help also holds you back. Example: We had Intel Server Support, Unix Server Support, LAN, WAN, Security, Phone, etc ., These were all great teams, great people, good to work with. But ,we were losing valuable experience (that would be needed in a future job opportunity) because we were not allowed to actually perform any of this work.

    Advice to Management

On-Site Personnel need more recognition. No one at a higher level even knows who we are. That being said, from another viewpoint, we are actually the face of the company as far as the customer knows. We are the one they see everyday. We are the ones they come to when they have a problem, we are the ones that takes care of them day in and day out.
