Senior Software Developer | DeFelsko Corporation

DeFelsko Corporation, a leading U.S. manufacturer of hand-held inspection instruments, is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our team.

Summary

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of internal business applications and related systems. This role focuses primarily on Java development, MySQL database architecture, Linux administration, and technical project execution while supporting operational efficiency and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support internal business applications primarily using Java
• Design and optimize MySQL databases, queries, and related structures
• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing software systems
• Write and maintain unit tests and participate in code reviews
• Support legacy PHP applications and develop Python automation tools as needed
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based application environments
• Coordinate technical projects from planning through implementation
• Maintain reliable attendance and perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience
• Minimum five (5) years of professional software development experience
• Experience with Java development and object-oriented programming principles
• Strong knowledge of MySQL database design, query development, and performance optimization
• Experience with unit testing and testable software design
• Experience working within Linux server environments
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting or maintaining PHP applications.
• Experience with Python scripting or automation.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and CSS.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
