Your Mission: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Jira Administrator to manage and optimize our Atlassian Jira instance. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, and support of our Jira platform, ensuring it effectively meets the needs of our various teams and projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Jira functionalities, workflows, and best practices, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Support Jira Service Management (JSM), including request types, queues, SLAs, and automations

Manage user accounts, permissions, and security schemes within Jira

Configure and maintain projects, workflows, issue types, screens, fields, and notifications

Install, configure, and maintain Jira apps/addons and integrations

Perform routine system health checks, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and patching in coordination with IT teams

Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Jira workflows

Design, build, and maintain complex workflows, including conditions, validators, and transitions

Continuously optimize workflows to improve efficiency, usability, and scalability.

Provide responsive technical support and troubleshooting for Jira users across the organization

Develop training materials and deliver sessions to onboard new users and promote best practices

Create and maintain clear, userfriendly documentation for Jira configurations and processes

Build and maintain dashboards and reports to track project progress, team performance, and key metrics

Ensure data integrity, consistency, and governance across the Jira environment

Support data migration, cleanup, and system improvement initiatives as needed

Collaborate closely with project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable Jira solutions

Communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical audiences regarding updates, issues, and enhancements

Install, configure, and maintain Jira apps/addons and integrations

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience of 35 years in a relevant role may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Atlassian certifications (e.g., ACPJA) are a plus.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Jira Administrator, including management of medium to large Jira environments.

Experience with Jira Service Management (JSM).

Experience with other Atlassian products (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket).

Knowledge of REST APIs and integration techniques.

Experience with database management (e.g., SQL).

Experience with Jira addons and integrations (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket, Slack, Microsoft Teams) is preferred.

Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and how Jira supports them is a plus.

Strong understanding of Jira core functionalities, workflows, permissions, and notifications.

Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a strong attention to detail.

Capability for sedentary work, including sitting for long periods and occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force. (Note: Update if the role requires lifting heavy hardware/servers).
