PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods
SUMMARY:
The Supply Planner owns the supply plan: they run it, challenge it, improve it, and communicate it. They bridge the gap between what the demand signal says and what the supply chain can deliver using data, systems, and sharp judgment.
Work schedule: Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2–4 years of supply planning experience in a manufacturing, CPG, or distribution environment.
- Exposure to a supply chain planning platform (Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, o9, SAP IBP, or similar); Kinaxis Maestro experience is a strong plus — we will invest in training the right candidate.
- Strong analytical instincts — comfortable working in data, able to spot the story behind the numbers, and willing to dig deeper when something doesn't add up.
- ERP experience (Oracle EBS, SAP, JD Edwards, or similar); ability to extract and interpret transactional data.
- Working knowledge of BI/analytics tools (Superset, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) — you don't need to be a developer, but you need to own your numbers.
- Curiosity about AI productivity tools and how to apply them to planning workflows; early adopters preferred.
- S&OP exposure — you've participated in the cycle and understand what a good Supply Review looks like.
- Clear, direct communicator — equally effective with a warehouse planner and a VP in a 5-minute window.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field. APICS CPIM in-progress or completed is a plus.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- End-to-End Supply Planning
- Own the master supply plan across a multi-SKU, multi-DC environment using Kinaxis Maestro as the system of record.
- Run constrained supply planning scenarios, identify supply gaps vs. demand signals, and recommend actionable responses.
- Maintain accurate supply parameters: lead times, safety stock levels, order multiples, and freeze horizons.
- S&OP Process Execution
- Prepare, present, and defend the supply position in the monthly S&OP cycle — Supply Review, Consensus, and Executive Review.
- Build the supply deck and KPI outputs that tell a clear, honest story to leadership.
- Flag risks and opportunities proactively — don't wait to be asked.
- Demand-Supply Balancing
- Translate published demand forecasts (Kinaxis) into a feasible supply plan; identify and resolve exception conditions.
- Manage horizon-based planning: short-term execution, mid-term capacity alignment, long-term scenario modeling.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and logistics to resolve supply constraints.
- Data, Analytics & AI Tools
- Query and analyze supply chain data using Superset dashboards and Oracle EBS; build your own views when existing ones fall short.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to automate repetitive analysis, accelerate root-cause work, and draft communications faster “it is a plus”.
- Continuously identify ways to replace manual spreadsheet work with system-driven logic.
- Continuous Improvement & System Stewardship
- Serve as a power user of Kinaxis Maestro — participate in configuration improvements, workbook optimization, and KPI definition.
- Document planning logic, parameters, and SOP updates; keep them current.
- Mentor junior planners and help build a planning culture of accountability and data literacy.
