The Role

Navusoft is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own and evolve the core backend systems that power our billing, invoicing, and financial workflows. This role is focused on Java/Sprint Boot backend development with a strong emphasis on financial data integrity, billing logic, and system correctness.

You will lead technical direction and management of a small team (4-5 engineers) while remaining hands-on in the codebase. You will be responsible for ensuring that our systems produce accurate, auditable, and reliable financial outcomes at scale. This includes designing and maintaining systems where correctness, traceability, and resilience are non-negotiable.

This is a senior-level, high-impact role: mistakes in this domain directly affect customers and revenue.

Other Responsibilities Include:

· Provide day-to-day technical guidance and oversight for a small team of engineers, supporting their development and ensuring alignment with platform architecture and coding standards.

· Communicate complex concepts and workflows in a way that is engaging and understood by users at various technical levels.

· Collaborate with product, training, and implementation teams to ensure the user experience meets or exceeds customer needs.

· Troubleshoot and resolve software issues reported by customers and other employees.

· Fortify best practices in terms of development cycle, release engineering, and quality control.

Required Qualifications

The following skills and experienced are required for this position:

· Strong experience building backend systems in Java (Spring Boot)

· Proven experience working on billing, accounting, or financial systems

· Deep understanding of: transactional systems, data consistency and reconciliation, auditability and traceability

· Experience designing systems where errors have real financial or operationalconsequences

· Ability to lead and manage engineers while remaining hands-on

· Clear communicator who can explain complex logic to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with PostgreSQL, including performance and data modeling

· Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms

· Familiarity with SaaS billing models (subscription, usage-based, etc.)

· Experience modernizing or refactoring legacy financial systems
