You will be the Embedded Software Engineer for the F-35 Vehicle Systems Software group which is responsible for developing and maintaining software for the Vehicle Management Computer.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Embedded Software Engineer you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality embedded applications that enable the F‑35 to operate safely and effectively.
Your responsibilities will include:
Design, develop, and test C++ embedded software for the Vehicle Management Computer in an Agile environment.
Apply object‑oriented programming principles and safety‑critical development standards throughout the lifecycle.
Execute unit testing using the LDRA tool and maintain required coverage and traceability.
Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers, participate in Scrum ceremonies, and contribute to continuous‑integration pipelines.
Ensure compliance with configuration‑management, documentation, and certification requirements.

Further Information About This Opportunity
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming Language (C++) and Object-Oriented Design Techniques
- Experience with embedded software systems
Desired Skills:
- Experience with safety critical software development process (ie DO 178)
- LDRA C++ Unit Testing skill is highly desired
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab or Bitbucket and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Green Hills software development tools
- Experience with Rhapsody design tool
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies
- Experience with requirements based CSCI testing
- Knowledge of Python
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Security Clearance Statement:

Ability to Work Remotely:
Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
